Citizens Advice Bureau helps people to know and understand their rights and obligations and how to use this information to get the best outcomes, provides people with the confidence and support they need to take action, and works for positive social change within communities and wider society. CAB provides a free and independent service to all.

Southland Community Law Centre provides free legal information and services to the population of Southland.

Established by the four Councils, Emergency Management Southland is responsible for the delivery of Civil Defence and Emergency Management responses throughout this region. Emergency Management Southland is responsible for the 24/7 operation of the Emergency Coordination Centre which facilitates planning and operational activity during an event.

Fiordland Community House is a 'Hub of Community Services' providing the Te Anau and Fiordland area with a host of services - Heartlands, Community Health Shuttle, Community Connector, Counselling, Employment, Community Family Worker, Foodbank, Office Hire and a variety of community information.

Pacific Island Advisory Charitable Trust supports Southland’s Pasifika communities. Their mission is to promote the wellbeing, education and cultural development of people of Pacific Island ancestry now resident in Southland and to provide an official channel to represent such people in matters concerning their welfare.
