Always contact the funder to talk to them about your application. They are there to help.
Always visit the funders website and find the funding guide – it takes you through the application form in a step by step way.
Check that your project is eligible for the fund. Different funders fund different things.
Make sure you answer all of the questions in the application form.
Be realistic about your costs and make sure your budget adds up.
Be able to explain why your project is important to the community and why it is needed.
Be realistic about timeframes for your project and the funding application process. Funders do not fund retrospectively.
Be clear in describing your project so it’s obvious what your project is, why you want to do it and what benefit it will bring the community.
Ask for help.
